“Giving back to those less fortunate was always part of my plan. I would like to help Burn Advocates Network organize the available care and improve the survival rate for those who suffer burn trauma.” Kéto is pictured here with his wife Shirre and children Jada, Lanay and Reuben. After suffering from second and third degree burns from a cooking accident in Northern Haiti, Kéto received life saving care, including 14 plastic reconstructive surgeries, at The Shriners Hospital for Children in Cincinnatti, OH. He recalls, “In my case, it took several months to discover Hospital Bienfaisance of Pignon where I received life-saving antibiotics care of Dr. Guy Theodore, one of Haiti’s best surgeons. A few more days and I would have died of infection, the most common cause of death for the injured in Haiti.” On his return to Haiti, he resolved to not only continue celebrating life with his own family, but also help others overcome their scars.
